Membership Mixer 2024
On June 27, 2024, AAF Tuscaloosa took over the Moon Room at Druid City Brewing Company for its 2024 Membership Mixer.
“This year’s mixer was our best yet,” said outgoing president Jacob Crawford. “It's been fun watching our community grow and mature over the last couple years. AAF has become better, stronger - and it's people like these who make it so much fun.”
30 community members from agencies, universities, colleges and small businesses attended. Each attendee received two drink tickets for local craft beer, as well as barbecue sliders and pimento sandwiches provided by Ell’s Kitchen.
“Our membership mixer was a roaring success,” said incoming programs VP and president-elect Ashley Cornelius. “The atmosphere was electric with current and prospective members mingling until well after the event was officially over. Huge thanks to Druid City Brewing Company for hosting us with open arms.”
“I really want to thank AAF,” said Druid City owner Bo Hicks. “As a small business in Tuscaloosa during the summer, an event like this one is a godsend. In a way, it was some of the best advertising. Getting new people through the door is hard, which is something I’m sure most of the people in this group know.”
He continued, “It was an amazing, diverse group of people. Since our advertising strategy is in-house, we’re looking to join ourselves, to learn from the community and share ideas.”
Druid City has supported creativity and culture in Tuscaloosa for over ten years. Founded by Bo Hicks and Elliot Roberts, the brewery has become a landmark for both locals and tourists. Many of their award-winning beers, like the Parkview Porter and Neon Moon, can be bought throughout the Southeast.
“Once again, thank you, all you you rad, wonderful humans,” said Hicks.
