Ronnie Quarles Memorial Scholarship

Priority of consideration will be given to students enrolled in the College of Communication and Information Sciences who are majoring in advertising or broadcast media. Preference will be given to students who are members of The University of Alabama Advertising Federation.

 

Diversity Grant

AAF Tuscaloosa is seeking nominations and applications for its Diversity Membership Grant. 

Membership includes national AAF membership, networking and professional development.  AAF Tuscaloosa will award up to three grants for the 2022-2023 membership year (July 1-June 30).

Each three-year grant will cover 100% of AAFT membership dues (currently $190) in year one, 60% of dues in year two, and 30% of dues in year three.  Dues cover meal costs at monthly lunch meetings, AAF District 7 Dues and national AAF individual membership dues.  

Criteria for the award are that recipients' race must be underrepresented in the club, they must be employed full-time in an advertising-related job or field (one that buys, sells, creates or oversees advertising), and not currently an AAFT member.  The priority application deadline is November 10, but applications will be accepted until all available grants are awarded.  To apply/nominate, email AAF.

To be considered for this scholarship, a student must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic and social standing at Stillman College.

  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA Be a member of a racial or cultural group that is underrepresented in the field of advertising.

  • Submit a resume and a brief statement expressing your interest in advertising or a related field. Minimum of 300/Maximum of 500 words.

  • Submit at least one letter of recommendation from an instructor or administrator at Stillman College.

  • Have recommendation letter emailed directly to diversity@aaftuscaloosa.com.

    Scholarship finalists will be interviewed by a selection committee.
